Classrooms in Crisis: Examining the Inappropriate Use of Seclusion and Restraint Practices.
On today, Wednesday February 27,2019 at 10am this will be discussed among the subcommittee in Washington. Will this make a change? Most lawyers do not think that it will. I have hope that it is atleast steps ahead of where we have been in years.
This means we are at the National Level with a bill to pass and possibly become law.
This year will be the first year I will actually advocate for the inappropriate use of restraints and seclusion in Texas schools. I have not yet gotten the results of our current investigation with the U. S. Office of Civil Rights but I do know it is in its final stages. With various opportunities coming up to speak with legislators I have prayed and decided to take the step and prepare to advocate for Alton in our state Capital.
This is what it is all about actually. In a day where we are reminded of discrimination everyday, I am pressed even more to stand up for what is right.
I know I haven’t been keeping you guys updated but I will do better, as I want those who are truly supporting this cause to know the real road we have had to walk.
Although there’s been a lot of progress in some areas for Alton, there are other areas that are still out of contro. But progreebis good...any progress is good when you are dealing with the results of trauma!
We all need to be a part of this fight so please watch if you can and help us stop them from hurting or children...ruining their lives!
